Steps to get a
Federal Student Loan

Consolidate your Student Loans

You have goals & dreams.
Will you have the money?

Make college a reality.  Get your Student Loan from ACMG!

You know the value of a college education.
Getting a college degree is a worthwhile goal. College graduates make an average of one million dollars more than those without college degrees. But the cost of a college education can be overwhelming for both students and parents. That’s why ACMG Federal Credit Union offers Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) loans. If you or another family member plans to attend a university, technical college, or any specialized training program, ACMG Federal Credit Union can help you with the funding you need to pursue your dreams. Looking for more information? Visit our Home and Family Finance Education page for articles, videos and student loan calculators to help plan your path.

FFELP offers loans for students and parents.

  • Stafford Loans (click to apply online)
    • The subsidized Federal Stafford Loan is based on financial need. The government pays the interest while you are in school.
    • The unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan is not based on need but family income is a determining factor.  You pay all the interest, although you can have the payments deferred until after graduation.
  • Parent PLUS   and  Grad PLUS Loans (click to apply online)
    • Creditworthy parents of dependent undergraduate students and graduate/professional students can apply for this loan, which is not based on need.

Student Loan Update: Our Board of Directors has voted to waive the 1% origination fee to members using our Stafford Loan Program, effective September 1, 2008!  This means that students that receive a Stafford loan will not have the 1% deducted from the proceeds that are forwarded to the school on their behalf.  Benefits, convenience, and superior member service are why students  keep coming to ACMG to fund their secondary education!
